It must have been a long day out, my daughter started her nap at 4:50 & is still sleeping an hour later. No worries, she is routinely up until 9:30p. It works for our schedule.
We started this morning by attending Tot Open Play at the Meri Lou Murray Rec Center on Washtenaw Ave with a friend. We arrived at 10, 1 hour after it started and we were the first ones there. I am very glad that we were there with a friend because I think she would have been bored without someone else to play with. Around 11 a few more children showed up and they put out more toys. The playtime (which costs $4) is for children up to age 5. At 3 3/4 she & her friends were the oldest there which meant we had to watch them a bit closely with the younger ones. You can read a full review on our website.
We left playtime about 11:30 and went across the street to Arby's. My daughter loves their roast beef sandwiches. The kids meal toys are fair. It was a spinning gyroscope that only works about 1/3 of the time (less when launched by a 3 yr old). They used to have a fruit offering with the kids meal, but have replaced that with applesauce which my daughter will not eat.
After leaving Arby's, we went to Old Navy. I was able to get her some jeans and tights (we had 3 pairs of jeans that fit & only 3 pairs of tights - 2 of which were too small). The biggest find that my friend made (in the toddler boys area) was long sleeve NFL t-shirts. And they didn't just have the local team. My friend was able to get the Bears (their team) & we got a Giants (our team). I was thrilled because I hadn't seen much on-line in my daughters size and we are going to see the Giants Thanksgiving night in Denver.
After Old Navy, it was time for school. My daughter had a great day. Grandma came with me to pick her up which she really liked. Grandma had promised her Dairy Queen the first day of school, so she was excited even though it was cold. (My mom was unable to be there the first day of school because my dad was in the ICU, he is now recovering at home).
Today I found a few more events to add to the Halloween events list and weekly story times at Borders, so those pages have been updated.
