Cars 2 Races Into Theaters This Weekend

We have been eagerly awaiting the premiere of Cars 2 today. My daughter has asked to go to a movie, so we may try to see the movie tomorrow. We would take advantage and go on a rainy day like today, but my husband wants to see the movie too and won't be returning from a conference until after midnight.

In Cars 2, Lightning McQueen, Mater, and other friends head overseas for the first World Grand Prix. While Lightning McQueen is busy racing, Mater gets caught up in an international spy ring.

Cars 2 is showing in both traditional showings and 3D showings at Rave Motion Pictures and Quality 16. It is showing in IMAX 3D at The Henry Ford.

Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation will be shown at the beginning of the movie. In this short film, the toys plan a romantic vacation for Ken and Barbie to "Hawaii" (a mix-up leads to creating it in Bonnie's room in the middle of winter). I am thrilled for this opportunity to see the toys in their new home.

This fall, Disney will have a limited engagement re-release of Lion King in 3D prior to the Blu Ray release. I have heard that their will be a 4 minute preview (the first 4 minutes of the movie) shown with the 3D version of Cars 2.

I am now as excited to see the movie for Toy Story and Lion King as I am for Cars 2 itself.

Rave Motion Pictures is offering a deal for kids this summer. Purchase one regular adult ticket and receive $2 off a child's ticket. With the purchase of a 3D adult ticket, you will receive $3.75 off of the purchase of a child's ticket. In addition, they will have kids activities from noon-5p on both Saturday and Sunday including face painting and balloon animals. Plan to arrive early to enjoy these activities. My daughter had her face painted at Rave with the release of Rio and was very excited.
