Imagination Movers Show Cancelled - Disappointing Move

I was disappointed to hear that the Disney Channel has cancelled the Imagination Movers show. Six months ago my daughter would have been devastated as it was her favorite show. However, she has moved on to dinosaurs, especially Dinosaur Train, so we have not watched Imagination Movers in a while. I liked that it was the only live action show and not a cartoon like the other Disney Junior shows.

In addition to the TV show, they have several CDs of their music available. I like that their music has lyrics for kids, but is rock inspired so I don't mind listening to it.

One thing that I liked about the Imagination Movers show was that the band came from New Orleans and continued to produce their show there supporting their community.

After 3 seasons, there are about 75 episodes, so the show will probably live on in reruns especially when the 24 hour Disney Junior channel launches next year.

The band plans to continue touring. Hopefully being free of the time demands of a series they will be able to have a longer tour. We were quite disappointed that they were no where near us on their 2010 tour. We saw their tour in March 2011 in Detroit and it was a great show - a rock concert for kids. Each of the Movers took a turn coming into different sections of the audience - Rich even came up to the balcony where we were sitting.

Personally, I would like to thank the Movers for three great seasons of TV that my daughter has loved. I wish you continued success.

Imagination Movers episodes are available on iTunes. You can also download their albums or individual songs from iTunes. Their music is also available as MP3 Downloads or on CD from Amazon.
