We love attending Top of the Park several times each year. My husband works at the Medical School so we will often meet him for dinner and music after work. Even when we don't make plans in advance we often run into people we know. My daughter is playing t-ball this year, so we have less free nights to attend Top of the Park. She has practice one night and a game on another.

Top of the Park begins on Friday, June 17 and runs through Sunday, June 10. The event is nightly except for Mondays. Each night there will be a Kids Zone tent with various activities. My daughter has played string instruments, made butterfly wings, tested robots, played with bubbles, and much more int he Kids Zone in past years. The Kids Zone activities are available from 5-8p on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and 6:30-8p on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.



On Sunday nights (except closing night July 10), the Ann Arbor District Library is sponsoring a Kids Rock Series. The movie on those nights is also kid-friendly. The rest of the music these nights will also be family friendly. Sunday, June 19 will feature Board of Education at 6p and the movie Despicable Me at 10p. Sunday, June 26 will feature The Boogers at 6p and the movie How To Train Your Dragon at 10p.

Sunday, July 3 will feature Recess Monkey and the movie Megamind. Local children's group Ariel and Zoey and Eli Too will also perform at 4:30p.


Opening weekend will feature Extreme Face Painting (suggested donation of $5) and a portable climbing wall from Planet Rock (suggested donation of $5).

We are looking forward to returning to Top of the Park this year. This year I have a Mom's Night Out at Top of the Park planned with my playgroup. There are plenty of classic movies from our youth to see: Back to the Future, E.T., Top Gun, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Footloose.
