FestiFools 2015

FestiFools 2015 Review

FestiFools has been an annual tradition in Ann Arbor since 2007. Since FestiFools typically falls during Ann Arbor’s spring break, we haven’t been able to attend in previous years. Since we we weren’t traveling this year, it was the perfect chance for us to attend.

We arrived around 3:40p and parked in the garage at Fourth and William. Since FestiFools is held on Sunday, parking was free. We parked and walked to Main Street where we found a good vantage point. The parade started promptly at 4p. The FestiFools participants paraded up and down Main Street from William to Washington. The parade continues making the rounds until 5p.

The below video captures some of my favorite pictures from the event.

Some of my daughter’s favorite FestiFools were Pac Man and ghosts, dragons, and the man from Monopoly along with the playing pieces. She has already decided that next year she wants to participate in the parade instead of just watching.

We watched the parade for about 35 minutes and then returned to our car. It was great to beat the mad rush leaving the garage at 5p.

I love events like FestiFools that bring out the town of Ann Arbor. We saw so many people that we know (participating and watching) and saw many more posting pictures on Facebook who were watching from another block.

Next year, I’m hoping that we can participate in FoolMoon as well. FoolMoon is a procession of luminaries to Downtown on the Friday night before FestiFools.
