Schedule for Martin Luther King Jr Day
With the kids home from school, there are plenty of activities to keep them busy.
The Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum is offering a discounted admission price of $4 today. They will also have Science of Toys from 10a-4p which include hands on experiments which will use toys to explore physics, logic puzzles, and how the world works. Dr Zeemo the Yo-Yo man will perform at 10:30a and 1p.
The North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in Detroit is also an option today. We visited the auto show yesterday and had fun, look for a review later today. Tickets are $13/adult. Children 6 and under are free with a parent and children 7-12 (and seniors 65+) are $7. Tickets can be purchased online, but tickets need to be picked up at will call as there is no print at home option (and you cannot purchase a child’s ticket online. They had plenty of credit card kiosks with no wait and event the cash booths did not have significant lines.
If your child is starting to outgrow their winter clothing, the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop Sale is today.
Learning Express also has three Make a Plate Workshops at 11a, 1p, and 2p. Space is limited, so I suggest calling to reserve your spot if they have any left.
If you want to escape from the frigid temps, consider warming up at Goldfish Swim School’s Family Swim from noon-1:30p. Family Swim is free for Goldfish Swim School Members and $5/non-members.
Finally, the Ann Arbor District Library has a special MLK Day Event: Biakuye Percussion Group at Downtown Branch of AADL from 1-2p. The event is for ages Kindergarten through adults.
If you were considering one of the UM museums (Natural History, Archaeology, or Art Museum), I suggest changing your plans. They are closed today (Archaeology and Art Museum are typically closed on Monday).
