The Huron Players to Perform The Sound of Music Next Weekend
This fall my daughter’s class was learning the songs from The Sound of Music in class. She loved the songs and they watched the movie in class. So I was excited to hear that The Huron Players at Huron High School will be performing The Sound of Music as their winter performance.
Shows will be at 7:30p on Friday and Saturday, February 7 and 8 and 3p on Sunday, February 9. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors. They also have a family 4 pack available for $44. We are definitely marking our calendar.
See their announcement below for full details.
The Huron Players and Huron Music Department proudly present The Sound of Music. By far Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most popular musical, and adapted into what became one of the most beloved movies in history, The Sound of Music takes place in 1938 on the eve of the Nazi annexation (or “anchluss”) of Austria. It is based on the remarkable true life story of the Von Trapp family, and how the arrival of one governess in the household of a widowed naval captain (and his seven children) led to a rediscovery of love, family and, of course, the power of music. “Do Re Mi” and “My Favorite Things” are among the many classic songs featured.
