Weekend Roundup – It’s St Patrick’s Day Weekend

Do you have weekend plans? I’m hoping my weekend settles down after an absolutely crazy day today. I am selling my daughter’s old clothes, toys, and more at the Mom2Mom Consignment Sale in Saline. While my daughter was at school, I finished pricing and packing everything. Met her at school for Science Olympiad practice, dropped-off our items for the consignment sale, and made it to our Girl Scout Cookie Booth a few minutes late. Fortunately, we were working the booth with one of our troop’s leaders who picked up cookies today so I didn’t have to add cookie pickup to my to-do list (I am the cookie mom).

There are a lot of great activities on Saturday and Sunday. Both days start with the Free Spring Matinee of How to Train Your Dragon at Quality 16 with showings at 9a and 10a each day. At 9:30a on Saturday, Keith Hafner’s Karate will be on hand doing a demonstration.

It is a big weekend for Mom2Mom Sales. I am selling at the Mom2Mom Consignment Sale at Liberty School in Saline (9a-2p). There are also Mom2Mom Sales at St Paul Lutheran School (9a-1p) and the Huron Valley Parents of Multiples Sale at Woodland Meadows Elementary (9a-noon)

We missed the Bedtime Math Glow in the Dark Party tonight at Nicola’s, but there is another party Saturday at 2p at Barnes & Noble. As an engineer, I am really excited about this program.

Saturday is a day for For science lovers, the Pittsfield Branch of AADL will host a Family Science Workshop: Present Day Predators and Prey: Maintaining the Balance for elementary aged children at 10a on Saturday. Younger children can enjoy 10a Nature Tales Rabbit Tales at Leslie Science & Nature Center or Story Time with Humane Society of Huron Valley at 11a at Nicola’s Books. The Hands on Museum will also have Professor Ray’s Everyday Science at 1p and 3p on Saturday and Sunday.

It is also a weekend for theatrical performances with Coming to America by Wild  Swan Theater and Michigan Theater’s Not Just for Kids Series production of The Teacher from the Black Lagoon and Other Story Books. Plus, the Ann Arbor Senior Center will have a St Patrick’s Day Celebration Concert from 1-2:30p on Saturday.

My weekend will conclude Sunday night by creating some leprechaun mischiefd. My daughter is already talking about what the leprechaun will do. She is also looking forward to a rainbow treasure hunt.

In the meantime, don’t forget to purchase or register to win tickets for next month’s LEGO KidsFest in Novi.

What activities are you looking forward to this weekend?

Ann Arbor with Kids is your go-to source for Ann Arbor Family Fun. It got its start in an activity list that I was compiling for the playgroup I ran at our church. When my daughter started preschool, the other moms were thrilled to hear about my list. I decided to take the list public in 2009.
