Rolling Sculpture Car Show & Jackson Road Cruise

In the past the Jackson Road Cruise was held in May near Memorial Day Weekend. Last week when I was looking for details, I saw that it is now held in July – the Saturday after the Rolling Sculpture Car Show on Main St.

The 20th Rolling Sculpture Car Show is on Friday, July 11 from 2-10p. The show is held on Main, Liberty and Washington St. There will be music from Surfer Joe featuring favorite hot rod songs. The Ann Arbor District Library will also have activities in their booth on Liberty St between Fourth and Fifth.

We love attending the Rolling Sculpture Car Show and seeing all of the cars in downtown. We typically arrive around 5 or 6p. If you plan to eat in one of the downtown restaurants during the event, I suggest making advance reservations or planning on a long wait. Our vacation schedule and weather have kept us from attending the last couple of years.

The Sixth Annual Jackson Rd Cruise will be on Saturday, July 12, the day following the Rolling Sculpture Car Show. The Cruise Headquarters is Bel-Mark Lanes which will have activities from 9a-6p.

Family Friendly activities at Belmark Lanes include

LaFontaine Buick GMC will be kicking off the festivities on Friday with Kid’s Day from 3-5p. Kids will be able to meet Lighting McQueen, Tow Mater, and The Avengers. On Saturday they will have Domino’s Pizza, Face Painting, Live music, and more during  the cruise.

Activities will be added at other locations and I will update you on the kid-friendly events at other locations.  New this year is also Taste of Jackson Road. Details have not yet been replaced, but for us this would be a big draw. I will update as more information becomes available.

Ann Arbor with Kids is your go-to source for Ann Arbor Family Fun. It got its start in an activity list that I was compiling for the playgroup I ran at our church. When my daughter started preschool, the other moms were thrilled to hear about my list. I decided to take the list public in 2009.
