Bike Decorating Contest at Ann Arbor Jaycees 4th of July Parade
The Ann Arbor Jaycees 4th of July Parade will be on Friday, July 4 at 10a. The parade starts on State St and William St, proceeds North to Liberty, West to Main St, South to William, and east to Thompson.
We have participated in the parade the last few years and my daughter loves being in the parade.
Any child who wishes can also join the parade. They just need to decorate their bike and meet at the corner of State St and E. William St. Parade groups will begin gathering from 8-9a with judging at 9:30a. Kids can then ride their decorated bike in the parade. Judging will be broken into 3 age groups: Under 5, Ages 5-8, and Ages 9-12.
The parade theme is “Heartbeat of America”, so patriotic hearts are a great way to decorate your child’s bike. You can preregister for the bike decorating contest online. All pre-registered participants will receive a treat bag.
And for some inspiration, here is a picture of my daughter with her decorated bike in 2011.
Note: A parent or guardian must participate in the parade with their child.
