End of June Weekend Roundup

There are tons of choices for this weekend. Many of which are outdoors, so hopefully Sunday’s weather (currently predicting a 50% chance of thunderstorms) will hold out.

My top pick for the weekend is the Ann Arbor Jaycees Carnival is at Pioneer High School through Sunday. Top of the Park also continues this weekend with KidZones by Lamaze Family Center, Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, and UM Museum of Natural History. Sunday is Kids Night with Aaron Nigel Smith the headliner at 7p and another long movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The pools are sure to be busy this weekend with Friday Flicks showing of The LEGO Movie tonight at Fuller Park Pool (9:30p) and Summer Splash Day at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon. We had a great time last weekend visiting Rolling Hills Park. Speaking of The LEGO Movie, don’t forget to enter my Giveaway for your own copy of The LEGO Movie.

Fun afternoon activities include Saturday’s Kid’s Day on State Street and Log Cabin Day at Parker Mill Park.

In indoor activities, there are several fun science activities this weekend. My picks include Eggcellent Engineering at the Pittsfield Branch of AADL today from 2-3p, Candy Kitchen Science at Superior Branch of Ypsilanti District Library at 2p on Saturday, and Craft Stick Catapults at Traverwood Branch of AADL on Sunday at 2p.

Also indoors for younger kids are the Chuggington Play Date at Little Conductors Toy Store in Chelsea on Saturday or Dancing Babies with Monica Higman at Malletts Creek Branch at 1p on Sunday.
