July at the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum
The big news at the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum for July 2014 is the new exhibit H2OH! which will be opening soon. However, they are also having special activities each weekday in July and some weekend events.
H2OH! is a new interactive water playscape as they play with water and plastic balls to learn about fluid motion. For construction updates, you can check out the Museums Website. I will be sure to let you know when an opening day is announced.
Each Weekday in July (except July 4th when they are closed), the museum will have a Pop-Up Makerspace where kids can discover their inner engineer. There will be an opportunity for kids to design, build, and test their inventions. Events will go through 4p each day.
University of Michigan researchers will be on hand throughout the month. Kids can participate in a fun, quick psychology study. They will receive a thank-you gift for helping out.
If you have a preschooler, you will want to mark your calendar for the Preschool Story Time from 9-10a on Tuesdays and 10:30-11:30a on Saturdays. The Preschool Gallery is also a great place for toddlers and preschoolers to “escape” from the big kids who are home on summer vacation.
The monthly Critters Up Close event when the Leslie Science Center brings animals to the museum will be on Saturday and Sunday, July 12-13.
While the museum is typically open until 5p, they are open until 8p on Thursdays with $5 admission after 5p.
