July Kicks Off with Activities for the Fourth and More

Happy Pre-Fourth of July Week!

My top recommendations for the week is the Ann Arbor Jaycees Parade on Friday, July 4. My daughter loves participating in the parade!

We loved The LEGO Movie which is the Dollar Movie at Quality 16 each weekday at 10a through Friday. (P.S. today, Monday is the last day to enter to win your own copy of The LEGO Movie). Another great movie choice is Frozen which will be shown at the Superior Branch of the Ypsilanti Library on Wednesday at 1p followed by a BBQ.

There are several fun events leading up to Independence Day to help you prepare for the holiday.
In past years, we have really enjoyed the Independence Day crafts at the Pittsfield Branch of AADL. This year, they are on Wednesday, July 2 at 2p.  The Ann Arbor Civic Band will have a patriotic concert at the West Park Band Shell on Wednesday from 8-9p. The closest Fireworks to Ann Arbor are at Hudson Mills Park on Thursday at 10a.

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival will wrap up on Sunday, so there are only a few days left to join in the fun.

Look for more details later in the week on Friday activities as I gather information on activities and holiday closures. To start, I know the Ann Arbor Park Pools are open. The Hands on Museum and Ann Arbor District Library locations are closed.
