Summer Events at AADL for Teens & Adults

The Ann Arbor District Library has a lot of great events planned this summer for all ages. In addition to the all ages events, there are a lot of events geared towards kids in grades 6 through adults.

The fifth annual Kids Read Comics event will be from 11a-6p on Saturday, June 21 and 12:30-6p on Sunday, June 22. Kids Read Comics is designed for kids in grade 4-adult. I’ll provide more details as the event draws closer. There is more Comic Book fun for those in grades 3 and up on Tuesday, July 8 from 2-3p with Comic Book Creations where kids can recycle comic books into a pendant or magnet at the Pittsfield Branch.

On Saturday, June 28 all ages can head to the Downtown Library to learn how to make a video review and leave a review of their favorite library item at Lights, Camera, Action! Talk Up Your Favorite Library Item. The event is for those from preschool through adult and runs from 11a-4p. It will be repeated on Saturday, August 9 from 11a-4p.

The library’s 9th Annual LEGO Contest is great fun for all ages, from preschool through adult. It returns to Kensington Court on Thursday, August 7. Drop off is from 9a-3p with the doors opening at 6p and the awards ceremony at 8p. We love the LEGO contest and my daughter will definitely be participating.

Teens-Adults:

Note that some events have been relocated from their original location if they were being held in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Downtown Branch. The elevator at the Downtown Branch is in need of upgrades and repairs so the lower level has been closed during repairs. The repairs may required the entire Downtown Branch to be closed with short notice, so events may need to be relocated again. Your best bet is to verify events shortly before they open
