Summer Events at Gallup Park
Ann Arbor Parks is holding a number of fun events at Gallup Park this summer.
Red Fish Blue Fish Teach Kids to Fish is on Sunday, June 8 from 9:30-11a and is part of Michigan’s Free Fishing Weekend when license Fees are waived for the weekend. At Red Fish Blue Fish Teach Kids to Fish, Ann Arbor parks will provide fishing poles, bait, and teach kids to fish. Meet at the Gallup Canoe Livery. It costs $5/child and they need to be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration is required.
Full Moon Paddles on Gallup Pond are scheduled for Friday, June 13, July 11 and August 8. You will be able to paddle around Gallup pond in a canoe or kayak taking in the night creatures. Boats can be taken out between 8 and 9:30p and must be returned by 11p. The event is $18/boat. Be sure to bring a flashlight.
The 34th Annual Huron River Day Festival will be on Sunday, July 13 from noon-4p. There will be $5 canoe/kayak rentals, children’s activities, live animal programs, exhibits about the river, music, food, and much more. If you ride your bike to the event, you will receive a free boat rental.
Gallup Park (and the Canoe Livery) is located at 3000 Fuller Rd in Ann Arbor.
