Highlights This Weekend Are Multi-Day Events

The main local activities this weekend are headlined by multi-day events in the communities surrounding Ann Arbor. This weekend is Dexter Daze, Saline SummerFest, and the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show in Ypsilanti. The weather this weekend looks great for all of these activities and any other activities that you have planned.

Today’s activities are highlighted by Dexter Daze with kids activities and entertainment most of the day. My daughter loved the GameStart School workshop that she attended earlier this week at Ann Arbor District Library, so we are recommending the 2p Computer Animation Workshop at Downtown Branch of AADL. Tonight’s fun includes Pajama Jam at Pittsfield Branch of AADL and the Full Moon Paddle at Gallup Park.

Tomorrow’s highlights include the Saline SummerFest with Probility 5K and Kids Splash & Dash, Youth Fishing Tournament, and more. Meanwhile Dexter Daze will hold a parade and fireworks. Also, tomorrow, look to the skies for the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show. And stretching into Sunday is the Rolling Hills Family Campout which begins at 2p on Saturday. With the campout and the warm temperatures this weekend, I expect another large crowd at Rolling Hills this weekend. We were there last weekend and it was packed. Another way to stay cool on Saturday is at Buhr Park’s Summer Splash Day (2-4p) or by joining the Ypsilanti District Library’s Summer Ice Cream Social.

The Ann Arbor District Library continues their fun activities all weekend. Saturday they will have Dancing Babies with Denise Owens at Malletts Creek Branch (10a) and Magnet Crafts at Traverwood Branch (2p). Then on Sunday, there is Manufacturama at Downtown Branch (grades 3-5) and Duct Tape Balls at Malletts Creek Branch.

Also, if you look beyond the surrounding communities, Walking with Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular is at The Palace of Auburn Hills. I know in past years that my daughter would have loved that show.

What events are you looking forward to this weekend?
