Prairie Park Description

We have been visiting Prairie Park Playground for years. I remember my daughter getting stuck at the bottom of the “U” tunnel at 2.5 and having to climb down to retrieve her – without sliding into her. Now at 11.5, she has no problem mastering the interlocking tunnels.

Prairie Park - Interlocking Tunnels

My daughter’s favorite part of Prairie Park is the Zip Line. At 4’11”, she is finding most playground zip lines too short. She had no problem hanging from the one at Prairie Park.

When I shared a photograph of the park after our visit, a couple of readers commented that they have had issues with ticks at the playground. Be sure to check your children carefully after any playground visit (here or anywhere else). In past years, there have been lots of mosquitos at the playground, particularly at twilight. We had no issues with mosquitos on this daytime visit.

We made a return visit in July 2022 to update our profile from 2017. The park has not significantly changed, but we are able to update some information for our new format introduced in 2021.
