Watch the trailer here:
There are several glimpses of Rey and Luke. One thing I found interesting is that Luke’s missing hand is now a metallic hand that is more like the one Anakin has in Revenge of the Sith than the flesh mechanical hand that he had in Return of the Jedi.
Rey is show both training with a Lightsaber and manipulating rocks and even the ground with her mind. Seemingly in response, Luke says “I’ve seen this raw strength only once before. It didn’t scare me enough then. It does now.” The trailer then cuts to Kylo Ren. I wonder if Luke is referring to his training of Kylo Ren or perhaps to the emperor or Darth Vader.
There are several shots of Carrie Fisher in her last appearance as Princess Leia. These are interspersed with scenes of Klyo Ren flying a ship. The scenes make it appear as if he is getting ready to attack the base where Leia is.
My daughter will be happy that a Porg makes an appearance in the trailer on the Falcon with Chewbacca. They are already her favorite creature, although her electronic Porg drives me crazy. Another new creature also appears in the trailer.
Other characters appearing in the trailer are Poe Dameron, Finn, BB-8, R2-D2, and Captain Phasma. In this trailer, Finn is awake and fighting and isn’t just in a sleep state like the teaser trailer. He actually fights Captain Phasma. Also for the first time, we get a glimpse of Snoke is shown. C3-PO is missing from the trailer.
Looks like Rey approaches Kylo Ren and says “I need someone to show me my place in all this”.
