University of Michigan Museum of Natural History
Region: University of Michigan
1109 Geddes Avenue, Ann Arbor
Join UM Museum of Natural History for a Hands-On Demonstration each weekend.
Have we found life on Mars? Discover how scientists search for life on other planets. Through family-friendly, interactive experimentation, you will learn about the field of astrobiology and re-evaluate the definition of “life.” Recreate an experiment from the Mars Viking Landers spacecraft expedition of 1976!
Hands-on demonstrations are 20–30 minute interactive programs on the 2nd floor of the Museum. They include both brief presentations highlighting University research and engaging hands-on activities, and are suitable for adults and children ages 5 and up.
Sessions are held at 11a on Saturday and 3p on Saturday and Sunday
